Korean Names

Korean names follow unique traditions where the family name comes first, followed by a generation name (often shared with siblings) and a personal name. Parents carefully select hanja (Chinese characters) for their meanings and hoped-for qualities. Modern Korean names sometimes forgo hanja in favor of pure Korean words with beautiful meanings.
